How to use this website

Welcome to the cloud skills dojo. Here you’ll find a simple way to get your cloud skills sharp. Use the sidebar to navigate the site and find the right lab for you, or just go through each lab from start to finish. We’re building more labs every day.

All Azure

All our labs are Azure focussed and run fully on Azure infrastructure and services. We will be adding more cloud providers and services to our curriculum in the future, but for now we’re focussing on Azure.

How to launch a lab

To launch a lab you’ll need to sign in first. We’re currently offering our labs as part of a closed beta to help test that our labs are reliable and performant learning tools. We currently have a waitlist to sign up. Please join our waitlist! We review it regularly and would love to welcome you aboard.

Each document on the side bar contains the details of the lab environment and a button to launch the lab environment. Once you’re signed in and click “Launch Lab”, you’ll find it takes around 5 minutes at most for a lab to launch. When it’s ready, the Azure credentials for your lab environment will present themselves to you on the screen and you’re ready to sign in. We recommend using an incognito browser window to avoid any mix-up with browser cookies you have from your own personal Azure use.

Why labs?

The lab environment is a pre-provisioned set of Azure resources that will help you learn the particular technology area you’re trying to study up on. When you’re trying to learn about cloud technology, you’ll find you often need to configure cloud infrastructure and services that are unrelated to what you’re trying to learn, but are necessary to configure anyway. Instead of the extra overhead, we pre-provision what’s unrelated to the subject you’re studying so you can get straight to the relevant exercises to hone your craft and master the cloud.
